Senior Patrol Leader

Work with the Scoutmaster to manage the Troop.Run Troop and Patrol Leaders Council meetings.Manage the Troop through the Assistant Senior Patrol Leaders and the Patrol Leaders.Communicate PLC plans and decisions to the Newsletter Editor.Attend Roundtable as needed to represent the Troop.Appoints as many Assistant Senior Patrol Leaders as needed to manage Troop activities.Do everything you can to make the Troop succeed.Junior Leader Handbook pages 7-13.

Chief Assistant Senior Patrol Leader

Help the Senior Patrol Leader run all Troop activities.Run Troop and PLC meetings and manage the Troop in the absence of the Senior Patrol Leader.Help other Assistant Senior Patrol Leaders do their jobs.Help train and supervise the Scribe, Librarian, Historian, Chaplain's Aide, and Bugler.Junior Leader Handbook pages 13-15.

Assistant Senior Patrol Leader

Help Troop Guides and Instructors work with the New Scout Patrols.Coordinate the work of the Troop Guides and Instructors.Help New Scouts earn First Class Scout rank in their first year.Keep track of New Scout advancement.Junior Leader Handbook pages 13-15.

Senior Scouts

Work with adult patrol advisors to help First Class, Star and Life Scouts advance to Eagle Scout rank.Keep track of Senior Scout advancement.Junior Leader Handbook pages 13-15.

Assistant Senior Patrol Leader

Works with adult leaders/advisors to coordinate and communicate Scouts' requests for assistance, Boards of Review, etc.Help adult leaders coordinate merit badge counselors and merit badge presentations.Work with Advancement Chair and ASPL-Senior Scouts to keep track of Senior Scouts' merit badge requirements.Junior Leader Handbook pages 13-15.

Assistant Senior Patrol Leader - Outdoor Activities

Help the PLC to develop a year-round outdoor program.Work with the Quartermaster, Grubmaster, Outdoor/Activity Chair and Scoutmaster to do detailed planning for each outdoor activity.Junior Leader Handbook pages 13-15.

Troop Guide

Train and guide New Scouts as they progress through their first Scouting year.Supervise and assist the New Scout Patrol Leader in making Patrol decisions. Help New Scouts earn First Class in their first year. Junior Leader Handbook pages 44-57.

Instructor

Teach Scout skills to New Scouts.Help merit badge counselors present merit badges to the Troop.Junior Leader Handbook page 62.

Scribe

Attend and keep minutes of the Patrol Leaders Council meeting.Record attendance and highlights for Troop activities in the Troop Log. Junior Leader Handbook page 60.

Quartermaster

Maintain records on Troop and Patrol equipment. Oversee maintenance of Troop Equipment.Issue all equipment needed for weekend outings.Work with ASPL-Outdoors to determine equipment needs for outdoor activities. Supervise loading and unloading the Troop trailer.Recommend new equipment to the Troop Committee.Junior Leader Handbook page 61.

Librarian/Historian

Set up and maintains the Troop library. Oversee loan of Troop literature. Make recommendations to the Committee on books and other material to be purchased.Develop a history of the Troop from its beginning in 1958.Gather pictures and facts about past Troop activities and keep them in a historical scrapbook.Junior Leader Handbook page 63.

Chaplain's Aide

Plan and lead non‑denominational services at Troop outings.Encourage all Scouts to take part in the religious awards program for their denominations.Lead the opening prayer at Troop meetings.Junior Leader Handbook page 62.

Bugler

Make all bugle calls at campouts and Troop meetings, including reveille, colors, muster, retreat, and taps.

Troop Order of the Arrow Representative

Attend all Order of the Arrow Chapter meetings.Keep the Troop informed about Chapter and Lodge activities and projects.Explain OA to New Scouts.Conduct OA elections.Encourage elected Scouts to attend the Ordeal.Encourage Ordeal members to become Brotherhood members.

Grubmaster

Patrol Leader

Represents patrol on Patrol Leaders Council.Appoints Assistant Patrol Leader.Plan and runs patrol meetings.Helps Scouts advance.Keeps patrol members informed.Sets the example.Helps the patrol run as a unit.Junior leader Handbook pages 17-28.
