Troop Outdoor Activities
Permission Slips
Each outing and activity requires a permission slip signed by a parent or legal guardian.Permission slips and money are due two weeks before each activity, so the Troop knows how many Scouts to plan for. No exceptions will be made on permission slip deadlines.
Parents Be sure to provide accurate information about where and how you can be reached at all times during the activity, in case we need to contact you. Also be sure to provide an emergency contact in case we have difficulty contacting you immediately.
Medical Care
Adult leaders will do their best to provide prompt, effective first aid if your son receives a minor injury.Adult leaders know their own skills and will decide what injuries they can effectively care for. If your son suffers an injury or illness that cannot be treated with basic first aid skills, the adult leaders will promptly obtain professional medical care for your son at the nearest medical facility. We will contact you as soon as possible. You are responsible for all medical expenses incurred as a result of your son's illness or injury.
Medication
Adult leaders cannot provide your son with any medication. If your son will need an over-the-counter medication such as pain reliever or cold medication, you must include that medication in hispersonal first aid kitIf your son will require prescription medication during an activity that a parent is not attending, and you would like an adult leader to help him take the medication or make sure he takes it properly, you must make arrangements in advance with an adult leader and provide the leader with written instructions for safely administering the medication. The prescription medication may be carried by the leader if that leader agrees to accept the responsibility.
Seats in Cars
Adult leaders have a limited number of seats for Scouts in their cars. If the number of Scouts going on the activity exceeds the number of available seats, additional parents will have to drive Scouts to the activity, and also be available to pick them up and return them to Mt. Auburn Church. All Scouts must wear seat belts.
