Mt. Auburn angel tree

Posted on Nov 30 2021 - 10:57pm

The Troop has committed to help Mt. Auburn provide Christmas gifts for needy families this year.  Instead of giving the boys the actual angel tags with the gift listed (since it can easily be misplaced) we have created a SignUp genius where each Scout can go and choose a gift.  We ask that each Scout purchase one gift (but please feel free to purchase more if you are able).  Full information about the event is available on the link here: Troop 245: Mt. Auburn Angel Tree program (signupgenius.com)

Parent Scoutbook training

Posted on Nov 30 2021 - 10:55pm

Parents, please be on the lookout for a special email from Scoutmaster Eric Smith about some training in December specifically for parents on using Scoutbook.  This is the digital platform we are migrating towards and allows your scout to schedule appointments for rank advancements, sign up for events, work on merit badges, and other things.

Lock in this weekend

Posted on Nov 17 2021 - 10:23pm

We will be having the lock in this weekend, November the 19-20. Arrival will be this Friday 7:00 PM and pick up is 7:30 AM on Saturday. Please arrive in your scout uniforms and bring a pen and notepad seeing as you will be needing them for annual planning. Bring any sleeping equipment you want, but most people do not end up sleeping in the first place. Bring personal medication as well as toiletries. You can also bring a video game console or system to play on while we are there. Snacks are also allowed, but the mess will need to be cleaned up.

Peace Light

Posted on Nov 17 2021 - 10:18pm

The Peace light will be arriving in the second week of December, if you are interested in participating or bringing it to your local church.  There is a sign up sheet at the meetings.  See Mr. Blessing or Mr. Smith with questions or learn more about the Peace light story here Home - Peace Light North America

Elks Veterans Dinner

Posted on Nov 2 2021 - 10:24pm

The Veteran's dinner is this Saturday at the Elk's Lodge in Franklin.  All Scouts who had previously signed up or expressed an interest in going at Monday's meeting were given as sheet of paper with a map showing parking options and specifics for the event to be given to a parent.  If your Scout is going or wants to go and you don't have that information Mr. Villanueva can provide it.  Scouts needs to be dressed in full class A uniforms with long pants.  Greeks pizza will be provided for them and they will earn service hours for participating.
