About Us

Mission of Scouting:

The mission of the Scouts BSA is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Scout Law.

A Scout is:

Trustworthy, Loyal, Helpful, Friendly, Courteous, Kind, Obedient,

Cheerful, Thrifty, Brave, Clean, and Reverent

Every Scouting activity moves boys toward three basic aims:

* Character Development   *   Citizenship Training   *   Mental and Physical Fitness *

How our Troop is organized

▪      Troop 245 is a Youth-led (Senior Patrol Leader) organization

▪      Scouts belong to a Patrol (8-12 scouts) and a Troop is made of 3-5 Patrols

▪      Troop leadership functions include recruitment, election of officers, and planning programs

▪      Adult leaders provide training and guidance

Troop 245 started in 1958 at Mount Auburn and is Part of the Pathfinder District within the Crossroads of America Council. We meet every Monday Night from 7-8:30pm at Mount Auburn United Methodist Church. Troop 245 is listed with the Boy Scouts as a consistent Quality Unit.  Every year for the past twenty plus years, Troop 245 has had a Scout earn his Eagle rank.
